Campus Buzzes with Senior Week Activities

From Formal to Silly, Seniors Enjoy Events to Mark Their Last Week as Undergraduates

A spoofy interactive viewing of Mona Lisa Smile counters the gravitas of senior luncheon and Baccalaureate Celebration. A game of "manhunt" in the Science Center lets off steam before the control of Commencement rehearsal.

The full slate of the week's activities follows.

Monday, May 21

10:00 a.m. - Funway Foxboro
Buses will take ticket-holders to Funway Foxboro. Attractions include mini-golf, go-karting, bumper boats, rock climbing, bungee trampoline, and more. Buses leave Funway at 3:00 pm to return to campus.

11:00 a.m. - Beyond the Bubble
The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life is hosting this get-together for crafting and chatting about life after Wellesley and what's to come.

4:45 - 7:99 p.m. - BBQ Picnic Dinner
A delicious picnic dinner will be served on the event lawn outside Alumnae Hall. Rain location: Tower. (Pomeroy and Tower will be closed.)

8:00 p.m. - Mona Lisa Smile Screening
We'll be screening Mona Lisa Smile in Tishman Commons. Pizza will be provided and a beer garden will be on site for all 21+ seniors. We'll also be distributing call-back sheets to make it a participatory show a la Rocky Horror.

Tuesday, May 22

10:00 a.m. - Sam Adams Brewery Tour
Buses will take ticket-holders to the Sam Adams Brewery for a free tour. There will not be a return bus; please plan accordingly and have fun spending a day in Boston!

8:00 p.m. - Manhunt
Prepare to hunt down your fellow classmates in a high-stakes game of Science Center Manhunt.

9:30 p.m. - 70s Party
It's a celebration of the 1970s, featuring a mix of modern music and 70's hits, plus disco decorations and themed costumes. Dress in your 70s best.

Wednesday, May 23

12:30-2:00 p.m. - Senior Class Luncheon
Luncheon for all seniors sponsored by the Alumnae Association, in the Chapel Lawn Tent. (Pomeroy and Tower will be closed.)

2:00 p.m. - Commencement Rehearsal and Awards Presentation
Attendance is required for the entire rehearsal, on the Academic Quad. Seat assignments will be posted on the registrar's office website on Monday, May 21. Please look up your seat before rehearsal.

9:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. - Senior Gala
Buses will leave campus at 8:15 p.m. For ticket-holders to the event at the Colonnade Hotel, hors d'oeuvres will be served at the beginning of the evening. Reduced and fixed-price menu options are available at Brasserie Jo (at the Colonnade; $35 prix fixe for three courses), Lucca ($37 prix fixe for three courses); and Haru (20 percent off), if you present a Gala ticket confirmation and Wellesley ID.

Thursday, May 24

10:30-11:45 a.m. - Sigma Xi Initiation
For seniors and guests (Science Center 277)

12:00-1:30 p.m. - Picnic Lunch
For seniors and guests in Bates courtyard and dining hall (tickets required). Cut-off time to purchase tickets is Monday, May 21. Call the front desk at the College Club (781.283.2700) or email wellesleycollegeclub@wellesley.edu.

2:00-3:30 p.m. - Baccalaureate Celebration
One guest ticket per senior for the event in Houghton Chapel and adjacent Chapel Lawn Tent.

3:45-5:10 p.m. - President's Reception
Reception for seniors and guest following Baccalaureate Celebration, at the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center.

5:15 p.m. - Phi Beta Kappa Initiation
For seniors and guests, in Jewett Auditorium.

8:00 p.m. - Baccalaureate Concert
In Houghton Chapel.

Friday, May 25

7:30-8:30 a.m. - Breakfast for Seniors
In Bates and Pomeroy dining halls.

9:15 a.m. - Senior Class Picture
On Severance Green Hill.

9:45 a.m. - Procession Formation
On Severance Green pathway and sidewalk.

10:30 a.m. - Commencement Exercises
On the Academic Quad.

1:15-2:30 p.m. - Diploma Distribution
Following the Commencement Ceremony, for seniors only in Margaret Clapp Library.

1:15-3:30 p.m. - Reception
Reception following Commencement exercises for seniors and guests, at Houghton Chapel Lawn Tent.
