Three College Collaboration Offers Wintersession Program on Sustainability

October 11, 2012

Four Students from Each College Form Team to Advise Sustainability Firm

The Three-College Wintersession Program is a free program in which four students each from Babson, Wellesley, and Olin work together as a team of advisors to help an organization that creates lasting social value using their diverse set of skills and perspectives. Participants will live together for two weeks in a Babson dorm,  work at Olin College during the day, and have all of their meals provided by the program.

The Three-College Wintersession Program started two years ago with a project related to pedagogy at the three colleges. Last year the team worked together to help Zimba, an MIT-based startup led by Laura Stupin that was doing field tests in India, to help properly chlorinate water.

This year, the Three-College Wintersession Program is partnering with Practically Green, a Boston-based sustainability firm. Practically Green is a young, dynamic company that works with different communities to engage members in practical sustainable living through innovative, fun social networking. The Three-College team will work closely with Practically Green to help develop its presence on college campuses.

Students interested in participating should fill out the application at www.tinyurl.com/3c-wintersession by Thursday, October 25. (The deadline has been extended one week). Any questions can be directed to R. Ely at rely@wellesley.edu.
