Wellesley Upstage Presents "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

December 7, 2012

Student Theatre Group's Musical to Run December 7-9

All productions by Wellesley Upstage, Wellesley College's student theater organization, are student acted, directed, and designed, and range from world classics to contemporary drama. This season, Alexa Keegan '14 directs The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The musical is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst, chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award-winning creative team has crafted the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming group for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

Performances are in Diana Chapman Walsh Alumnae Hall Auditorium.

  • Friday, December 7 at 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m.

Wellesley, Babson, and Olin students with ID. Other guests $5 general admission.

OUR EXPERTS
Brenna Greer says, "Whether remembering the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. or his assassination, I think it useful to remember what Dr. King himself expressed: "This is not a drama with only one actor."
