At the Academic Council meeting on February 6, 1975, President Barbara Newell reported the appointment of "Mrs. Maud Chaplin on a part-time basis as Associate Dean of the College and Assistant to the President." The position of Associate Dean first appears in the Wellesley College Bulletin for 1975-1976.
