Statistical consulting is available for any phase of a research project, from study design and data collection to data analysis to communicating results.

We particularly encourage you to come discuss projects that are still in the development or design stage - no need to wait for data! Statistical guidance can often be most helpful before data collection begins.

Email Casey Pattanayak to schedule a consulting meeting: Please include a very brief description of your project and the issue you'd like to discuss.

Between June 2013 and October 2015, the QAI has provided statistical advice for more than 115 projects. We have worked with faculty, student, and other researchers in astrophysics, biological sciences, chemistry, cognitive and linguistic sciences, computer science, economics, English, biochemistry, French, engineering, quantitative reasoning, environmental studies, library and technology services, neuroscience, political science, psychology, Russian, sociology, history, math, women and gender studies, and the Wellesley Centers for Women.

Additionally, there is statistical support for students on campus. Beryl Larson is the all-campus statistics tutor for Fall 2016. She can also help with introductory statistics material in ECON 103 and 203, MATH 101, QR 260, and in most QR overlay classes. She is also available for tutoring on the basics of R, Stata, and Matlab for applications in statistics and data analysis. Pleae email Beryl if you have any questions:
