Legal Name Change
In order to process a legal name change, you must present an original legal document with your new legal name to the Office of Registrar. We will make a copy of the document and then process your name change. While your original email address will not change, alternative email aliases are generated to reflect a new legal name.
Preferred Name Change
To change your preferred first name, submit an email request to the Office of the Registrar. Please include your current full legal name, your Banner ID number, and your preferred first name. Once the change has been entered, you will receive an email message. While your original email address will not change, alternative -mail aliases are generated to reflect a preferred first name.
Students may also have their preferred first name printed on their Wellesley OneCard with their legal last name. Those students wishing to do so should contact the Campus Police.
