Unitarian Universalist Chaplain
I am a Wellesley graduate of 2009, and am currently studying at Harvard Divinity School, planning to receive my Masters in Divinity in May of 2015. After graduating from Wellesley with a Bachelors degree in Peace and Justice Studies, I worked on an organic farm and apple orchard before heading to Malawi, Africa, as a Community Based Resource Management Volunteer for the Peace Corps for two years. There I worked to establish a strong network of women that attended and worked on crafting women's empowerment workshops and projects such as creating a Environmentally Conscious Tea Room and several Organic Kitchen gardens. Upon returning from Malawi I began started my three year masters program at Harvard to further her social justice work in a spiritual context.
My studies at Harvard have focused on world religions, and on Unitarian Universalist history and polity as well. During my first two years of study I also worked part time as the Director of Religious Exploration, running the youth education program for a UU church in West Roxbury, MA. The summer after my first year she received two grants to work on projects in the slums of Delhi and Mumbai, and returned the following January to futher those projects. Last summer I completed her Clinical Pastoral Education unit at Boston Medical Center, serving as a chaplain for an Urgent Care Unit and a Step-Down floor.
I am very excited about working with the UU students, the UU Advisory Board, and the ORSL team in this interim role through the end of this academic year. Come visit me in Billings 209!
