Accomodating Religious Dietary Requirements
ACCOMMODATING RELIGIOUS DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
INTRODUCTION
A number of religious traditions have dietary requirements, some at all times and others at particular times of the year. College and university food service facilities can go a long way toward making students from these traditions feel at home by offering special menus that take such requirements into account.
Three examples are given here. Dartmouth College opened its inter-religious dining facility in 2002. Cornell University provides special foods through its 104 West! Dining Hall, and the University Food Services at Brown University offers a variety of special menus.
