Observing Religious Holy Days
OBSERVING RELIGIOUS HOLY DAYS
INTRODUCTION
Many questions arise in relation to observing religious holy days on campus.
- What are appropriate symbols and decorations that we can put up to celebrate various seasons?
- Where should they be or not be displayed? Dining halls? Offices? Dorm living rooms?
- When should they be displayed? For how long?
- Are there universal symbols?
A position paper from Wellesley College is provided to help address these and other related questions, along with a sample calendar to alert faculty regarding days on which some students will have food restrictions and/or special worship observances.
