Mayya Volchkevich
Language Assistant

I was born and raised in Moscow and have lived there my entire life. My academic interests include Russian literature and language. My dissertation was about Chekhov’s play “Seagulls.” In this play, I was most interested in the development of the characters and understanding their personal reflections about life and art. I have written books on Chekhov’s three plays; “Three Sister’s”, “Seagulls”, and “Uncle Vanya”. I have taught at Russian State University of Humanities for over 10 years to both Russian students and foreign students. I enjoy listening to and reading verses of Russian poetry and traveling.
