Student-Run Coops and Businesses
If you'd like to work in a fun, cooperative environment, then keep your eyes open for applications to one of Wellesley's student-run businesses.
Even if you don’t want to be on staff, be sure to stop by for a snack at Cafe Hoop, a sandwich from El Table, or a drink at Punch's Alley!
Café Hoop is a student-run, student-owned co-op in the basement of the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center, founded in 1981. Serving up delicious late-night snacks and drinks, the Hoop is a great place to hang out. Stop by tonight!
El Table, short for “Elevator Table” (when it began in 1904, it was only a small table by an elevator) is a student-run cooperative café serving sandwiches, salads, soups, and snacks. El Table offers vegetarian and gluten-free options, and (perhaps most importantly) refutes the rumor that the Hoop could take El Table in dodgeball.
This student-managed pub has remarkable red décor and beverage prices. As one Yelper put it, “$3.00 beers. Even the good ones. Need I say more?” Even if you’re not there for a beer, the pub is a fun place to meet with friends or fellow members of a student org… and almost always has live music or parties on the weekends.
Wellesley College's only sustainable living cooperative, the SCOOP is located in Simpson West (the same building as Health Services!). We live in a conscientiously sustainable and thoughtful manner, working to reduce our impact on the earth and its resources.
