Club & Organization websites
The Wellesley College network environment has undergone some significant changes in the past few years, and the college no longer provides web server space for student organization websites.
The college will provide student organizations with guidelines and training for web site development, if needed.
As an alternative web site platform for student organizations, the college will support your organization's use of Google Sites, which is part of the college's Google Apps for Education suite. The college uses the Google Apps for Education suite for email, and group emails, and student organizations can gain self-sufficiency, through this integration with the Google email, calendars, sites, docs, groups and other Google apps. Please note, it is not mandatory to use Google sites. Many student organizations are using off-campus alternative such as Facebook.
The views and opinions expressed in the following pages are strictly those of the page authors, and comments on the contents of those pages should be directed to them. Student organizations still must comply with the Honor Code, as well as the College's Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources Policy provides guidelines for the appropriate use of information technology resources at Wellesley College and establish sanctions for violations of this policy.
Google sites training and support will be provided by LTS if needed, and the Help Desk will be able to answer general Google questions as well.
Basic Google Sites documentation is provided here: https://sites.google.com/a/wellesley.edu/google-apps-for-education/sites
LTS staff are available to consult with student groups about their web sites. Please contact the Mac Stewart (firstname.lastname@example.org), 781.283.2906, for more information about websites (new & old sites), linking sites, and additional assistance or training.
