Dean of First-Year Students

Shanté Brown serves as Dean of the First-Year Class each year. As Class Dean, Dean Brown provides guidance and support to first-year students as they make the transition into the college environment. Students meet individually and in groups with Dean Brown throughout the academic year, to plan their course schedules, discuss options, interests and challenges, and begin to identify their academic goals. The First-Year Dean’s Office also is responsible for New Student Orientation and the Orientation Mentor program. Dean Brown holds a B.S. in History with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from SUNY College at Brockport and an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut. David Todd

Advisor for New Student Programs

David Todd serves as the Advisor for New Student Programs and works collaboratively with the First-Year Dean to support the New Student Orientation program, including the Orientation Mentor program, in addition to assisting the Class Deans. David holds a B.S. and B.A. in Computer Science and Theatre, respectively, from the University of Maryland, College Park and an M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia.
