Emma Carter-LaMarche
Emma is a senior majoring in History with a concentration in military studies and a minor in Middle Eastern studies.

She spent the summer at Joint Base Lewis-McChord with 2-17, a United States field artillery battalion. She is a ROTC cadet at MIT and has previously completed U.S. Army Airborne School. She also traveled to Nepal through CULP, a cultural emersion program designed to bolster military relations with foreign governments and provide humanitarian aid. On campus Emma is part of The Agora Society and Allies, a group dedicated to improving civilian-military relations. Upon graduating in the spring Emma hopes to serve Active Duty in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in Field Artillery, making her the first Wellesley student to do so since the ban on woman in combat arms was lifted.
