Emma Lurie
Emma is a junior majoring in computer science with a minor in Chinese.

She is especially interested in the societal impacts of emerging and established technologies. In the summer of 2017, Emma worked in the Wellesley College CRED lab investigating methods to assess the credibility of online sources and the ongoing “fake news” crisis. This fall, Emma continues her work in the CRED and also started at the MIT Election Data Science Lab helping create a national database of standardized and searchable precinct-level election data. On campus, she tutors and mentors students in an introduction to computer science course. Emma is also passionate about increasing diversity in STEM and has worked with organizations such as Girls Who Code and Robogals. Emma plans to combine her interests in public policy and technology in the future.
