Gaya is a junior double majoring in French and Neuroscience.

In 2020-2021, she took a gap year from the college in order to volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps in Houston, Texas, where she supported the COVID-19 pandemic response. Gaya previously worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Graybiel Laboratory at MIT’s McGovern Institute for Brain Research, and is currently working at the Wiest Laboratory at Wellesley, where she studies the neural correlates of perception. Gaya is also a member of the varsity rowing team and is the volunteer engagement coordinator for Ministrare Council under the Office of Civic Engagement. She has a native proficiency in Tamil and Kannada, working knowledge of French, and knows basic Spanish. Upon graduation, Gaya hopes to pursue opportunities that combine her interests in medicine and language studies in order to address the challenges facing health equity and healthcare accessibility around the world.
