She is interested in the cross sections between development economics and computer science. In the summer of 2022, Heeba worked as a Software Engineering Intern with Toast, Inc. where she used her programming skills to empower restaurants and support them during the pandemic. Heeba spent her junior year doing research regarding Liquid Democracy with Professor Brian Brubach. Their paper was published at the ACM FAccTs Conference and Heeba was able to travel to Seoul, Korea to present their research. Heeba’s goal upon graduation is to work with an organization that is dedicated to using technology to decrease inequality in areas such as education and healthcare.
