Ilhan Esse
Ilhan Esse is a senior double majoring in Biological Sciences and Spanish.

Her interests lie in clinical research and community health. During the past two summers, Ilhan has interned both at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Roxbury Somali Development Center. At Dana-Farber, Ilhan worked to identify mutations in patient samples of lung adenocarcinoma in the hopes of creating better targeted cancer therapy treatments. During her time at the Somali Development Center, Ilhan worked closely with and mentored newly immigrated adolescent girls and women. On campus, Ilhan is a tutor for Stronger Communities Stronger Schools, a Wellesley run organization that partners with both Boston Public Schools and community organizations. She is also a member of the Wellesley African Student Association and Al-Muslimat. Upon graduation, Ilhan intends to continue her research at Dana-Farber and pursue a career in public health.
