Kazu Shimada
Kazu is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in History.

She recently completed an internship at the Fondation Jardin Majorelle, where she contributed to a digital map of the botanic garden, as well as writing content for their online database. Her interest in agricultural history and policy stems from an internship at the Asian Rural Institute, where she dived into a diverse community that contemplated the application of sustainable agriculture in their regional communities. On campus, Kazu is the culture chair of the Japan Club and works at the mail services and distribution center. Kazu speaks fluent Japanese and advanced French. She hopes to attend graduate school studying Asian agricultural policy and history.
