In the summer of 2018, they interned at the Boston Public Health Commission at the Infectious Disease Bureau, where they educated Boston’s local communities about disease prevention. On campus Mar rows on the varsity Crew team, participates in MIT Army ROTC, and volunteers with Boston Cares. They are working towards proficiency in MSA Arabic. Mar’s goal upon graduation is to attain an MD/MPH combined degree and work with community health centers focusing on queer health.
