I am a fair optimist. In my art, I like to capture the hidden beauty in daily life through rose-colored looking glasses. Optimism is about possibilities and potential, it provides new perspectives to imagine the world. Anything is possible in the art world.
My work explores the small pleasures that come from daily life. Looking up at a clear bright sky with fluffy white clouds, chatting with friends in a nice café with good music, trying on brand new clothes with matching accessories, and lying in my bed with clean blankets, all of these trivial things give me happiness.
My inspiration comes from various places. From high art to the pattern on a dress, hierarchies do not exist in the way I combine imagery. Texture, material, image, and sound, all of them collaborate in the construction of my utopias.

Moment of Happiness

Moment of Happiness serves as a reminder of daily life in this global pandemic. The work is a collage of fragmented daily life, consisting of trivial objects and landscapes with expansive skies that are pervasive in my everyday routine. Monochromatic drawing depicts the rampant tragedy happening in the world, but the glitters on top add an optimistic layer, symbolizing hope and desires. Objects in the work are daily necessities that are easily found in this world, which exaggerates the importance of daily life: simple but essential.
Happiness can be found in the smallest details of our mundane existence. I try to look at the world from a positive perspective that leads to the pursuit of happiness, in my daily practice of radical optimism.
