Wellesley Mentorship Affinity Program (MAP)

Deadline to sign up: February 19, 2024

Career Education, the Wellesley College Alumnae Association, Student Life, and Physical Education, Recreation & Athletics are delighted to continue the Wellesley Mentorship Affinity Program for students and alums. We invite you to learn more below and participate by completing the student or alumane sign-up survey below!

MAP is an ongoing commitment to mentorship at Wellesley, which matches alums and students in virtual groups based on career interests and shared identities. The program goals are to create supportive mentorship connections that foster participants’ sense of belonging, identity development, values, exploration of possible career paths, and connections within the larger Wellesley community. Designed to support personal and professional development, mentorship groups will provide opportunities to ask questions, seek guidance, share stories and resources, and offer informal networks for career development.

The pilot MAP program began in September 2021 with an overwhelming response of 867 alums (across classes from 1950 to 2021) and 650 students participating in 152 MAP groups. The pilot provided important insight and data to address group administration and provide increased flexibility for participant participation going forward.

  • MAP will run from February to May 2024 and is open to all current Wellesley sophomores, juniors, seniors, and alums.
  • Program participants will meet virtually with their groups each month in March, April, and May based on selected date and time options.

  • Groups will be given preset Zoom links and calendar reminders. Given scheduling realities, it’s foreseeable that some participants will be unable to attend all three meetings. Individual mentorship connections are always available in The Hive if MAP meeting dates and times don't work for your schedule or time zone.

  • Groups will receive resources and support to structure their meetings while remaining self-guided and flexible based on each group's unique dynamic.

  • Participants will mutually benefit from engagement with their group by receiving advice and new perspectives, while also sharing their experiences and career journey.

Alums and students from all backgrounds and experience levels are valuable participants, and joining the Wellesley MAP program is a great way to make a positive impact and connect with the Wellesley community.

The support that alums and students continually show for one another makes Wellesley exceptional and we're grateful for your participation!
