Ama Agumeh is the Career Community Advisor for Health Professions, Public Health & Life Sciences. As a collegiate student affairs professional who has lived, studied, and worked with diverse populations in four countries, Ama brings a multi-cultural experience to the her role at Wellesley College that positions her to work effectively with the academic community.

Ama received her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon. She earned her Master of Education in College Student Affairs and Administration from Rutgers University. Afterwards, she spent 2½ years in Switzerland, learning the German language.

Prior to her current position as Career Community Advisor at Wellesley College, Ama was an academic advisor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where she advised students with Science and Business majors. At FAU, she spent some time working with the Pre-Health Advising Office, preparing prospective students for post-graduate professional health programs, while also serving as a member of the interview committee.

She gained some experience working at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, Emirates Airlines in Dubai, U.A.E, and at Rutgers University in New Jersey through multi-disciplinary roles in student life, global education, and multicultural & academic affairs.

Ama is student-focused and enjoys working with people from all walks of life. The idea of working with the next generation of global women leaders excites her and she looks forward to meeting with you!
