Emily Welden is the Program Manager of Civic Engagement. Emily comes to the Wellesley community with a background in nonprofit youth work, violence prevention, and social justice education. She has an undergraduate degree from Lesley University where she studied Holistic Psychology, Literature, and Sociology. She also recently completed her M.Ed in Community Engagement at Merrimack College where she pursued research on allyship within higher education. Previously Emily served as the Program Director at Girls' LEAP Self Defense in Boston, MA, and provides consultation to the experimental service learning group The Girlhood Project at Lesley University. She believes in the power of intergenerational activism, radical self reflection, and social change communities.
