The Education, Nonprofit, & Social Impact (ENSI) Career Community is a space for students and alumnae interested in purpose-driven work, whether that be through teaching and education, nonprofit administration, philanthropy, social work and counseling, advocacy and activism, community development and planning, or countless other sectors that address society’s big challenges. Wellesley’s rigorous liberal arts education and commitment to service provide students and alumnae with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in these fields and prepare them to emerge as ethical leaders ready to make a real difference in their community.
ENSI careers take many forms and often cut across sectors, but are united by a common orientation towards addressing complex social issues, whether on an individual, community, or global scale. Students and alumnae in the ENSI career community are often involved in matters such as educational reform, racial justice, homelessness and housing rights, poverty, sustainability and climate change, mental health, gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights, food security, and community development. This work can occur in the classroom, through direct service organizations, within activist and advocacy spaces, or through research, policy, and assessment. No matter the setting, the ENSI community presents countless opportunities to precipitate social change.
