Stephanie Houde '87, User Experience Design Consultant
Stephanie is an independent user experience design consultant with more than twenty years of experience designing innovative digital products and services for companies and institutions including Apple, Bitstream, Constant Contact, GenArts, and the MIT Media Lab. She has collaborated effectively with software engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to create user-friendly software experiences that are well suited to the implementation platform, product goals, and user requirements. She studied Architecture at Wellesley College, and later earned a Master’s Degree in graphic design from The Massachusetts College of Art.

Zaza Kabayadondo '09, Co-Director of the Design Thinking Initiative, Smith College
Zaza is leading a pilot program to incorporate design thinking into undergraduate education at Smith College. She develops design curriculum, teaches faculty and students, and designed the college’s first prototyping studio. She is an early alumna of the Stanford d.school, and is a founding member of the Research in Education and Design (REDlab) group. She has a commitment to understanding how learning environments can be shaped to enhance agency, creativity, and community development. Prior to joining Smith, her energies were focused on introducing design thinking to Zimbabwe, where she facilitated workshops for doctors to develop insightful medical devices and reimagine their practice. She holds a BA in Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College and a PhD from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education.

Consuelo Valdes '11, Senior UX Designer, Confer Health
Consuelo is currently a Senior UX Designer at Confer Health. Previously, she was Senior UX Designer at Cloudlock, now a part of Cisco, a UX Designer at Imprivata Inc., and a Research Fellow at the Wellesley College Human-Computer Interaction Lab. During her time at Imprivata, she was the lead UX designer for the Hands-Free Authentication project and co-led the OneSign desktop authentication experience redesign. She holds a BA in Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College. Casey Grote ‘14 Interaction Designer, Bose Corporation Casey began working as an Interaction Designer at Bose as a contractor in 2015. They worked on mobile applications and voice interfaces for wireless speakers and converted to full-time in 2016. Casey oversees third party APIs, designs music experiences, is the SoundTouch mobile application Design Lead, and has two tiny dogs. They earned a BA in Media Arts and Sciences from Wellesley College.
