Insights Into Clinical Psychology: Alumnae Career Conversation with Amy Crowe '78 (March 2023 Webinar)

Amy Bassell-Crowe graduated from Wellesley in 1978 and then received a Master’s degree in public health from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed her post-doctoral training at the Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto.

Amy has worked in both public and private settings including with the Massachusetts Departments of Public Health and Mental Health as well as several county-based programs in California. Her career has focused on improving mental health for children and adults and the majority of her career she has been in private practice as a clinical psychologist offering treatment and assessment for children and adults. Her clinical specialties include Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, and substance use.

In addition to direct service clinical work, Amy has been a guest lecturer at UC Berkeley and other schools in the Bay Area. She has supervised PhD students working in homeless shelters and served as a consultant to several non-profit agencies including Jewish Family and Children’s Services and Building Futures Now.

Amy currently serves on several non-profit boards including the UC Berkeley Foundation Board of Trustees and the UC Berkeley School of Public Health Dean’s Advisory Board.
