At the Davis, art history is human history. Our collections hold artworks from around the world — some crafted thousands of years ago, others made just this year — spanning global history from antiquity to the present, with holdings from almost every continent.

The Davis Museum is a vital force in the intellectual, pedagogical, and social life of Wellesley College. Intertwined with the College's curriculum, our galleries reflect the scholarship produced by students, staff, and faculty, and our work is ever evolving: alongside dynamic presentations of the permanent collection and installations that support specific coursework and research, the Davis hosts a rotating series of temporary exhibitions and programs organized to inform, challenge, and inspire. Our holdings are housed in a museum building designed by Rafael Moneo, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize.

We invite you to enjoy, learn from, and connect with the artworks in our building. Our galleries are spaces for education, reflection, and collaboration, where we seek to cultivate visual literacy, inspire new ideas, and foster involvement with art on campus and beyond.
