Friends of Art Houston: In Memory of Susie Morris '44

Thursday, November 17, 2016 - 5:30pm
Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Join the Friends of Art in Houston for a special program to honor the memory of Suzanne “Susie” Kibler Morris ’44, a longtime friend to Wellesley alumnae as well as a tireless champion of the arts.

Malcolm Daniel, curator in charge of photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, will share with the FOA his insights into several iconic photographs in the Museum’s renowned permanent collection. The photographs to be discussed were acquired with generous funds provided by the endowment that Susie and her husband, SI, had established. Also of note is that Dr. Daniel collaborated with the Morrises’ eldest daughter, Maria Morris Hambourg Barlow ’71, on many acclaimed photography exhibitions when they both served as curators at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Please meet on November 17 at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Museum’s Audrey Jones Beck Building, 5601 Main Street. Admission to the Museum is free on Thursdays.

For more information, please contact Jasmine Sung '03, Regional Chair, at foahouston@wellesley.edu.
