Support

PLANNED GIVING

A planned gift can provide income to you and your loved ones, while allowing you to make a valuable contribution to the Davis. Planned gifts can be charitable gift annuities, trusts, bequests, etc. A bequest is a simple and meaningful source of support to the Davis.

A bequest is a gift made through your estate plan. If you have a will or trust, or plan to create one, consider including a gift for the Davis. A bequest can be made for a specific dollar amount, or for a percentage, a fraction, or the balance of your residuary estate.

You can give cash, personal property, real estate, securities, insurance policies, or retirement plan assets. Or you may choose to create a trust, providing income to another individual for life, with the trust principal coming to the Davis upon the death of the income beneficiary.

Bequests are an important and meaningful source of support for the Davis. For more information and assistance, please contact the Office of Gift Planning at giftplanning@wellesley.edu or call 800.358.3543.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Each summer, a select group of Wellesley College students joins the Davis staff in various departments for ten weeks of hands-on professional experience. This residential, paid, and highly competitive opportunity ensures that students earn marketable skills, gain broad exposure to museum operations, and acquire an overview of best museum practices. Activities include field trips to regional museums, weekly lunches with Davis staff, and an annual trip to New York City.

PUBLIC PROGRAMS
Throughout the year, the Davis offers a variety of programs open to the public to include lectures, gallery talks, symposia, performances, family days, and a film series. Each program highlights a current exhibition and theme, and are open to children of all ages. On an annual basis, the Davis Museum’s public programs hosts 1700+ visitors.

EXIBITIONS
Through inventive and intellectually sharp exhibitions, the Davis Museum provides distinctive opportunities to explore and interpret our collections, organizes loans from other museums to provide unique access for our communities, and contributes new scholarship to the museum field. The Davis produces 8-10 exhibitions every year, and has received high acclaim from national and international press. These are often exhibitions that cannot be produced by larger institutions who are driven by attendance figures, thereby making the Davis more experimental, thought-provoking and unique in its programming.

GIFTS OF ART
Donations of works of art help to enrich the Davis Museum and may offer benefits for you too. Gifts of personal property may be donated to the Davis during your lifetime or by bequest.

In order to maintain standards, the College applies special policies and conditions to the acceptance of gifts and tangible property. The Wellesley College Gift Acceptance Policy describes these in detail, including procedures and regulations specific to the Davis Museum.
