Student Events

Each semester, the Davis hosts a series of events that are especially for students, including tea talks, student-led tours, and information sessions about opportunities in the museum world. 

 

Black History Month Tour for Campus Community

Wednesday, February 20

12:30-1:30 pm

Refreshments will be provided. 

Amanda Gilvin, Sonja Novak Koerner '51 Senior Curator of Collections and Assistant Director of Curatorial Affairs, will present a tour on artworks from Africa and the African Diaspora in the Davis Museum permanent collections.

 

Student Initiative Program 

 

Wellesley College students are challenged to submit proposals for in-gallery performances related to an object in the Davis permanent collections. Applications are due by March 20 and are available at: https://www.wellesley.edu/davismuseum/students/student_i_program . Possible performances include, but are not limited to, music, dance, theatre, and poetry. One submission will be chosen by a committee comprised of Davis staff and Student Advisory Council members to be performed on a futuredate. The winner will be announced in April Stay tuned! Generously supported by the Wellesley College Friends of Art Student Initiative Programming Fund.

Get outdoors with the Wellesley student-created Bark & Metal outdoor sculpture and ecology program. Join a Davis Student Guide for a guided tour of the Wellesley College campus environment.

Enjoy tea, light refreshments, a Student Guide gallery talk on tea objects from the Davis’s permanent collections, and meet the Davis staff during this special opportunity for Wellesley students.
