Junko Uramatsu Smith ('58)

Junko Uramatsu Smith was a member of Wellesley College Class of 1958. Before Wellesley, she attended the American School in Tokyo for two years. She then attended Northampton School for Girls for another two years. During her time at Wellesley, she was a photographer for the campus newspaper, The Wellesley News

After Wellesley...

  • Married Mr. Henry Clement Smith, a psychologist, and had two sons
  • Held a position as an assistant in biochemical research at the Rockefeller Medical Research Center and Later at Yale University.
  • In 1972, was involved in prison reform movement called "Prisoners' Peaceful Movement."
  • 1974 was bilingual editorial assistant and technical translator for Computerworld, a newsweekly.
