Matsu Okonogi (1907-1909)

Miss Matsu Okonogi attended Wellesley College as a special student from 1907-09 after receiving a government grant for study abroad. She later went to Cambridge University in England for further study of English.

Miss Okonogi was actively engaged in women's education and the YWCA (the Young Women's Christian Association) in Tokyo throughout her life. She traveled to the USA, England, and France in various capacities and served as the Director of the Board of the National YWCA. Miss Okonogi also served as the Vice President of the Tokyo Wellesley Club (1916).

Miss Okonogi passed away on November 18, 1965.
