Through the Looking Glass: Prokofiev’s First String Quartet
Sheffield Chamber Players return to Wellesley College with a discussion and performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s String Quartet No. 1. In the intimate setting of the musical salon, for which most chamber music performances were intended, the group will explore the background and historical context of this masterpiece and trace its important musical ideas before performing the piece in its entirety.
Generously supported by the Maria Opasnov Tyler ’52 Fund.
