Declaring a Major

Declaring a Major

The introductory geoscience classes are a popular choice among Wellesley students looking to fulfill their NPS distribution requirement or to explore their interests in earth and environmental sciences. Most of our geosciences majors and minors decide to study geosciences after taking their first class.

The Geosciences faculty are excited to explore your growing interests in geosciences! If you find you are interested in taking another GEOS course or declaring a major/minor we recommend talking with your faculty member or the current GEOS chair about your interests and future courses to take.

At that meeting, your faculty member will introduce you to this google form to help you learn more about the geosciences major/minor and its pathway to many careers including but not limited to: green energy transition, hydrology, environmental consulting, K-12 science teaching, outdoor education, national and state research positions, and post-secondary education.
