Mentorship Program

The Wellesley College Mentorship Program provides employees the opportunity to form a mentoring relationship with a Wellesley colleague. The program is designed to connect employees to help each other develop as leaders and managers, discuss career paths at Wellesley, and help develop important skills for career success.

The Mentorship Program will run from February 2020 to May 2020 and include three HR-run sessions. Mentors/mentees will also meet on a biweekly basis during this period.

Session 1: Kick Off - Thursday, March 3, 2022, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Session 2: Midpoint Check-In - Thursday, April 7, 2022, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Session 3: Finale - Thursday, May 5, 2021, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Biweekly Check-Ins: Mentors and mentees will meet for one hour on every other week

Session 1: Kick Off

Thursday, March 3, 2022 - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This session will bring together all mentors and mentees for the first time and discuss how to establish strong and impactful mentoring relationships. Mentors and mentees will be paired and introduced to each other and start discussing their goals for the program.  The last hour of this session is dedicated just for mentors to provide tools and coaching to help the mentors succeed in their roles.

Session Objectives:

  • Introduce and pair mentors and mentees
  • Establish how to create a meaningful mentoring relationship
  • Set groundrules for program 

Please note: The session for the mentees is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - the last hour is reserved for mentors to provide further coaching from HR.

Session 2: Midpoint Check-In

Thursday, April 7, 2022 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

All mentors and mentees will come together in this session to check in on progress. The mentors will come together in a group to coach each other and provide tips towards effective mentoring. The mentees will also meet together in a group to discuss the relationships they have built with their mentors and provide strategies to further their relationships.

Session Outcomes:

  • Group check in on progress of program
  • Provide mentors with more tools and coaching towards effective mentoring
  • Provide mentees with more insight into establishing stronger and more effective realtionships with their mentors
Session 3: Finale

Thursday May 5, 2022 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

In this final session, mentors and mentees will come together to reflect on their success of the program and celebrate the bonds and relationships they formed.

Session Outcomes:

  • Reflect on outcome of program
  • Celebrate the relationships that have been established
Biweekly Meetings

After being paired at the March 3rd Kick Off session, each mentor/mentee pair is required to meet for at least one hour on a biweekly basis. The meetings are at the discretion of the mentor/mentee, but routine check-ins should be occur to help both the mentor and mentee grow and develop during the program.

Optional: Coaching from HR

The Office of Human Resources & Equal Opportunity is offering one-on-one coaching for either mentors or mentees who wish to deepen their mentoring relationship further.
