Active Directory

Active Directory Upgrade

Project Proposal:

The central infrastructure's "plumbing" is so behind the scenes you may not even know it exists, but if you have ever logged into a system with your domain account credentials, you have been using systems supported by Active Directory.

Active Directory, the backbone of our central authentication system leveraged by most campus systems, is outdated (v. 2003) and will soon be unsupported by Microsoft.   LTS will be upgrading the system as well as the servers, known as domain controllers, that provide essential domain services, to ensure ongoing availability of all systems that require domain account authentication.

Completed <June 2015>:

The upgrade was completed successfully on June 9, 2015.
