Create bookmarks for Wellesley's Google Apps for Education

Follow the directions below to create a bookmark so you can access your Wellesley Google Apps account directly, without having to go through the MyWellesley portal. 

Chrome homepage

  1. Click on the three dots on the top right of the browser page and click Settings.
  2. In the On Startup section, select Open a specific set of pages and click Set Pages.
  3. If there is a page in the list that starts with login.wellesley.edu, hover over it and click on the X that appears on the right.
  4. To add the correct page, next to Add a new page, click the Enter Url text field and enter mail.wellesley.edu and click Ok.
  5. Close the Settings tab.

Chrome bookmark

  1. Click the three dots on the top right of the browser page and click Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
  2. If you have a bookmark that isn't working, find it, click once to select it, then press the delete key to delete it.
  3. Right-click in the folder you want to place the new bookmark in and select Add Page.
  4. In the Name field, type Wellesley Gmail.
  5. In the URL field, type mail.wellesley.edu and press Enter to create the bookmark.

Firefox homepage

  1. Click the three-line button on the top right of the browser and click Preferences.
  2. If multiple pages open when you launch Firefox:
    1. Scroll through the Homepage field and look for a website address that starts with login.wellesley.edu and delete it.
    2. Add the website http://mail.wellesley.edu to the list, remember to include the | character between the other pages and this one.  
  3. If only one page opens when you launch Firefox:
    1. If the one page is login.wellesley.edu, delete it and enter http://mail.wellesley.edu instead.
    2. If you wish to add Wellesley Gmail as an additional page, at the end of the current website listed, enter the | character then type http://mail.wellesley.edu.
  4. If no pages launch when you open Firefox and you want it to open Wellesley Gmail:
    1. Set 'When Firefox starts to 'Show my home page'.
    2. Enter http://mail.wellesley.edu as your home page.
  5. All changes are saved automatically, so after changing the home page you can close the Preferences tab.

Firefox bookmark

  1. Next to the search field in the browser, click the notepad icon to the left of the star icon, and select Show all bookmarks.
  2. A new Library window should appear.
  3. To change an existing bookmark:
    1. Find the bookmark that you typically use to access Wellesley Google Apps and click once on it to select it.
    2. You should see the details of the bookmark at the bottom.
    3. Replace the text in the Location field with http://mail.wellesley.edu
  4. To create a new bookmark:
    1. Open the folder where you want to put the bookmark, right-click in an empty area in the right pane and select New Bookmark.
    2. Enter a name, such as Wellesley Gmail.
    3. Enter http://mail.wellesley.edu as the Location and click Add.
  5. You can now close the Library window
