I am a Biological sciences Major in the class of 2018 and I call Cincinnati, Ohio home.

I joined the Tetel lab in the summer of 2016 when I worked under Kalpana Acharya studying the ligand independent activation of progesterone receptors. My current work looks at the role of estrogens in energy homeostasis in female mice. We are exploring the co-expression of estrogen receptors and Fox01 in leptin-sensitive neurons in the hypothalamus.  During my time in the Tetel lab, I have learned valuable techniques such as Western blot, protein-protein pulldowns, and immunohistochemistry. Before joining the Tetel lab, my independent research in the Environmental Studies department looked at the presence of toxic chemicals including the herbicide g lyphosate in commercial tampons.  I hope to continue my science career after graduation, particularly combining women’s and environmental health.

When not in lab, you can find me running around the lake, scrumming on the rugby pitch, or watching a cult classic film.
