Dulce Aleman '24

Hi! My name is Dulce Aleman. I am a member of class of 2024 from Houston, Texas and a prospective Neuroscience major. I joined the Tetel Lab in Summer 2021 through the Science Center Summer Research Program.

Over the summer, I worked remotely with Dr. Marc Tetel, Dr. Kalpana Acharya, and Poli Gonzalez to analyze data that was retrieved from the Wellesley Lab using the software "R". The data, collected by Coco Plasencia and Cesiah Gomez in Wellesley's Lab, investigated the effects of inulin on high fat diet-fed mice. I am excited to continue learning about the effects estrogens have on biological functions of women's body, like gut health and metabolism. Before joining the Tetel Lab, I was a first-year apprentice in the Wasserman Lab at Wellesley College where I explored state-dependent decision making and circadian rhythm in fruit flies (Drosophila melanogater).

At home, I am one of six children. I am a Posse scholar part of Wellesley's Posse 4. I enjoy re-watching The Twilight Saga almost every week, dancing, watching 90's Rom Coms, and socializing.
