The city of Bremen is located on the River Weser in the northwest of Germany with a beautiful old town to explore and many cultural attractions. Students at Jacobs University Bremen will join an intercultural community with students from over 100 countries living on a large park like campus. The University offers a custom visiting program for students at Wellesley College with a focus pre-health, STEM and Media Arts & Sciences. Students participating in the Fall Pre-Med program will travel to Bremen and enroll in Wellesley's Biochemistry 227 course taught remotely by a Wellesley faculty member in order to stay on track with premed requirements. The course will appear as a Wellesley course and the grade will be factored into the Wellesley GPA. The core course for the Wellesley pre-health program European Health & Welfare includes study trips to Berlin and Geneva to meet with researchers and policy makers in government and non-government organizations. Students are connected with local physicians for shadowing, research or community engagement. Beginning in Fall 2021, Jacobs will offer a track for Media Arts & Science students with a core course in art/design with a focus on the city of Bremen to complement the wide range of course offerings in Computer Science. STEM students seeking a research experience may elect to join one of the state of the art labs for a semester-long credit bearing research experience.
