Jessica Ostfeld

Past Paulson Initiative Intern

Jessica is a junior at Wellesley College majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Environmental Studies. During summer 2018, Jessica interned with the Paulson Initiative where she engaged with the Wellesley landscape, learned about its history and species composition, and created a final project about Wellesley’s Paintshop Pond (previously a hazardous waste site). Jessica works for Wellesley’s Office of Sustainability as a Sustainable Workspace Certification Intern, working with faculty to strategize ways they can make their work life more sustainable. She was also the Event Chair of Wellesley’s student environmental organization, EnAct, during her sophomore year. Jessica spent the fall of her junior year in Costa Rica at the SFS Center for Sustainable Development Studies, where she honed her Spanish language skills and investigated strategies for sustainable growth. For summer 2019, Jessica hopes to intern with an organization working on improving US and/or global environmental policy.
