Process

  1. LOG IN TO WELLESLEY’S STARREZ HOUSING PORTAL

    • The Housing Portal is Student Housing’s new online home! This is where students will complete their housing application and acknowledge the annual Housing agreement, confirming their need for a housing assignment the following semester. Any student who requires housing must log in and complete their housing application. Access the Housing Portal via MyWellesley - Student Self-Service.

  2. CONFIRM YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS

    • While completing the housing applications, students will have the opportunity to confirm their name, home address, and emergency contact information. If any details require updates, students will be directed as to how they provide accurate information via MyWellesely.

  3. CHOOSE A PHASE OF ROOM SELECTION

    • In the housing application, students can choose to participate in one of three phases of room selection; Block Housing, Residence Hall Renewal, and General Selection.

  4. ACKNOWLEDGE THE ANNUAL HOUSING AGREEMENT

    • In the Housing Portal, students will be able to review and acknowledge the annual Housing Agreement at the time they complete their housing application. The Housing Agreement details the terms and conditions associated with living in student housing.

  5. CREATE YOUR PROFILE

    • Every student will create a personal profile by answering a series of questions about themselves and their ideal roommate. Profiles can be displayed and searchable for any students seeking roommate(s). A customized algorithm will calculate a percentage match, pointing students towards potential roommate that will be the best fit for them.

  6. FIND A ROOMMATE

    • Students can search for roommates by name or commonalities, or take roommate suggestions from StarRez. Students can then message one another within the Housing Portal, establishing a connection with their potential roommate(s) right on the spot.

  7. BUILD YOUR GROUP

    • Students selecting roommate(s) or blockmates will create a roommate or block group. Roommate Groups will be between 2 and 5 students, depending on the room, suite, or apartment that the group hopes to select. Block Groups will be between 5 and 7 students.

    • All members of a block or roommate group will be assigned a shared room selection time slot. The first person in each group to complete their housing application will “create” the group and become the group leader. Group leadership can be transferred at a later date if students wish to do so.

  8. LOOK FOR AN EMAIL

    • Every student who requires housing/completes their housing application in the StarRez Portal will receive an email detailing their room selection time slot. This time slot represents the earliest point at which a student can log in to the Housing Portal to select their room, or rooms for their blockmates or roommates if they are a group leader.

  9. SELECT A ROOM

    • Room availability will be updated in real time. Every student will be able to view and select from available rooms matching their eligibility.

  10. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE DONE WITH HOUSING SELECTION!
