Summer 2023 Housing Information
Winter/Summer Housing
Housing Registration:
Any student who needs on-campus housing, and meets the above eligibility requirements, must complete the Summer Housing Registration Form in Online Housing Portal. The Registration Form will open on April 20th and close on May 1st. Late registrations will not be considered. Each student will be asked to identify their reason for staying on campus, which will be confirmed with sponsoring programs and departments.
Who can stay:
As there are a limited number of beds available for student housing during Summer 2023, only students who have a need to remain on campus will be approved to stay. Please note the eligibility requirements for summer housing have changed since last year, so please be sure to read carefully. Students who need to remain on campus may include:
- On-campus/Wellesley College Sponsored Internships (eg. Davis Museum, Paulson Ecology of Place, Walker School interns, and Botanic Garden interns)
- Summer Science and Social Science Researchers
- On-campus student employees/fellows with a Wellesley College sponsoring department (eg. departmental student employees, LTS student employees, Admissions student employees, Case Fellows, Summer Res Life Staff, and Orientation Coordinators)
- Students registered for one of two in-person summer courses
- Students deemed financially independent according to Student Financial Services
Locations for Housing and Dining:
Summer Housing for approved students will be in Cazenove and Beebe Halls. Each student will be required to participate in the summer meal plan, and dining will be available in the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center. By requiring that all students living on campus participate in the meal plan, we can be assured that all students will have enough to eat.
Housing Assignments:
When completing the Summer Housing Registration Form, students will have the opportunity to request specific roommates. Due to the complexities of construction, maintenance, and move-out timelines this spring, Summer Housing rooms will be assigned by the Office of Residential Life & Housing. All approved disability housing accommodations will be met based on availability. Single rooms will first be assigned to rising seniors and to students with approved medical singles, before being assigned to rising juniors. We highly encourage rising juniors to identify roommates when completing their Housing Registration due to the limited number of single rooms available.
Cost and Billing:
Students approved to live on campus will be billed $1,500 for housing and $2,000 for meals.
For Summer 2023, the College will help defray student expenses through the application of a $1,500 waiver for housing and, in collaboration with sponsoring programs, a $1,000 waiver for meals. Student Financial Services (SFS) will post these waivers to each student’s Workday account. Students will be responsible for the remaining half of the meal plan ($1,000). Housing and meals will not be prorated for students who arrive after May 21st or leave before July 29th.
Financial Aid:
Summer financial aid is only available to assist with tuition costs for students enrolled in Summer Session Wellesley College courses. There is no financial aid available for housing or meals during the summer.
