Study Abroad

All Study-Abroad programs in the Russian Federation are suspended until further notice, but students are encouraged to study Russian abroad.

There are many opportunities to study Russian abroad outside of Russia. We recommend that you consider the following programs:

  • Middlebury College in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan (info HERE)
  • Bard-AUCA in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (info HERE).
  • American Councils
    • Advanced Russian Language and Area Studies Program (RLASP) in Almaty, Kazakhstan or Yerevan, Armenia (info HERE)
    • Russian Heritage Speakers Program in Almaty, Yerevan, or Chisinau, Moldova (info HERE)
  • Learn Russian in the EU/Daugavpils University in Daugavpils, Latvia (info HERE)

Interested students should consult the director as soon as possible.

Russian Area Studies students might also be interested in preapproved programs in Krakow Poland with API or a program Prague with either CIEE at Charles University or with CET and their Jewish Studies program.
