The following funds support the Science Center Summer Research Program. 

Students accepted to the program are assigned to work with a Wellesley College faculty member, and the awards listed below support their research.  Assignment of funds is made by the Summer Research Selection Committee, chaired by the Science Center Director.  For more information on grants given to do research at specific programs and universities, see  Summer Research Opportunities.

Awards Supported by the Office of the Provost and Dean of the College
Amabel Boyce James '74 Fund for Summer Research in the Sciences
Named for Amabel Boyce James (Wellesley College Class of 1974). These awards are given to rising sophomores and juniors to encourage early interest in science. Students work under the supervision of a Wellesley College faculty member.
The Janina A. Longtine '76 Endowed Fund for Summer Research in the Natural Sciences
Named for Janina A. Longtine (Wellesley College Class of 1976). These awards are given to students doing research in the natural sciences under the supervision of a Wellesley College faculty member.
Georgeanne Miller Mulhern Faculty/Student Research Fund in the Sciences

Awards to do research in either zoology or plant science. These awards may be for work with a Wellesley faculty member, or at an off-campus site.

Roberta Day Staley and Karl A. Staley Summer Awards for Cancer-Related Research
Awards to sophomores or juniors majoring in any discipline (including social sciences and humanities) to undertake cancer-related research. The awards may be used to conduct research with a Wellesley faculty member, or at an off-campus site.
'Wellesley Summer' Grants
Awards for Wellesley students, majoring in any department in the Science Center, to work with Wellesley faculty on campus.
Barbara Peterson Ruhlman '54 Fund for Interdisciplinary Studies
Awards for Wellesley students from any department, to work on projects that are interdisciplinary in nature.
Frost Fund for Environmental Studies and Science
