Am I eligible?
  • Any current student is eligible to participate.
How do I apply?
  • Up to two prizes will be awarded for outstanding student papers in South Asia Studies, one for the humanities and one for the social sciences. 
  • Papers written in previous academic years may be submitted for consideration.
  • Only one submission will be accepted per student. Your submission may neither have previously been awarded a prize nor be submitted to be considered for an award by another department or program in the current year.
  • Submit a pdf copy of your writing to Margaret Kennedy at mk110@wellesley.edu with "South Asia Studies Prize Submission 2024 for the Humanities" or "South Asia Studies Prize Submission 2024 for the Social Sciences" in the subject heading. Please do not include your name or any other identifying information in the body of the submission.
  • Submissions will be read by faculty as anonymously, and personal information about the submitters will not be available until after winners are selected.
When is the deadline?
  • Applications for Spring 2024 are due by Friday, April 5th at 11:59pm EST (Boston time).
