Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may add classes during the first two weeks of classes only.

A course may be dropped at any time through the last day of classes. If a course is dropped before the end of the fourth week of classes, it will not appear on a student’s record. Courses dropped after the end of the fourth week will be noted with a "WDR" on the transcript. Students are advised to consult their class dean when making any changes in their program.

In some years, the specific deadlines for adding and dropping courses will vary from these ordinary dates.  Students should check the academic calendar for specific dates each semester, and for more information, please visit the Registrar's website

International students in non-immigrant visa status (F-1 or J-1) must be enrolled full-time (at least three units of coursework) each semester, not including summer, in order to maintain their status in the United States. There are limited exceptions to this regulation. International students must consult with the International Student & Scholar Advisor prior to dropping a class that will cause her to be below full-time. Please see information regarding immigration regulations for international students or contact the International Student & Scholar Advisor at kpabon@wellesley.edu for more information.
