Assistant Dean of Intercultural Education and Advisor to Students of Latina Descent
Mared Alicea-Westort serves as a resource to all Latina students, in an effort to build a strong Latina community on campus where students feel valued and supported. Her team also aims to raise awareness about Latin American cultures and issues throughout the College community, where more than six percent of students are Latina and international students hail from 10 Latin American countries.
She provides individual advising, referrals, and information about internships and advocacy to members of Mezcla , Alianza , and Cielito Lindo, the Latina dance troupe, and to all Latina students on campus. She also directs the College’s multicultural programs.
