Spring 2021 - Call for Regalia Donations! A letter from the 2021 Class Council:
Dear young Alumnae,
We hope this announcement finds you all in good health and even better spirits. We’re writing on behalf of the Class of 2021, who are looking forward to what we hope will be a distanced in-person Commencement early this summer for those of us who are on campus and a virtual ceremony for seniors who are completing their degrees remotely.
This year has presented, as we’re sure you well know, immense difficulties for nearly every member of our community. The Class of 2021 is feeling particularly burdened by the loss of their senior year, on top of familial obligations, financial trepidation, and uncertainty about post-Wellesley life.
We’re hoping to alleviate some of that burden, especially for first-generation and low-income students, by hosting a Regalia Donation drive from young alums. Regalia is an undue financial burden for many, especially those of us who are just trying to make ends meet already. To address this need, we are reaching out to you to see if you would be willing to donate your old cap and gown to the Wellesley Students' Aid Society so that we may ensure that as many seniors who need regalia are able to easily obtain it for Commencement.
If you are able to donate your gently used regalia, please postmark your donation by March 15th and send it to the following address:
Wellesley Students' Aid Society
Schneider Center Suite 117
106 Central St.
Wellesley, MA, 02481-8203
Thank you for your kindness and generosity in this most unusual year.
All our best,
Katie Christoph and Shreya Parjan on behalf of 2021 Class Council and the Wellesley Students' Aid Society
